Buffalo, NY native Alliah L. Agostini is an award-winning marketer who has marketed everything from iconic brands to scrappy start-ups, but motherhood helped her return to her first love: children’s literature. She writes and speaks to spread joy, truth, and to help more children see themselves reflected on the page.
Alliah is the author of several non-fiction and fiction picture books. Her debut, The Juneteenth Story: Celebrating the End of Slavery in the United States, named winner of Best Historical Book in the 2022 Black KidLit Awards. Her March 2023 release, BIG TUNE: Rise of the Dancehall Prince, is a Junior Library Guild Selection, and has received starred reviews from Kirkus, who also named it a ‘Best Book(s) to Read in March’ and Publishers Weekly, who also deemed it a ‘New and Noteworthy Children’s Book’ for March 2023. Alliah is also author of the upcoming releases Oprah Winfrey: A Little Golden Book Biography (November ’23), A Juneteenth Celebration Cookbook (April ’24), Great Idea Malia (Fall ’24), and more.
Ms. Agostini and her work have been featured widely in press, including Essence, CNN, TODAY with Hoda and Jenna, Morning in America, NPR, Good Housekeeping, and Book Riot. She resides in New Jersey with her husband and two children, and has an A.B. and an M.B.A. from Harvard.
