Acclaimed Louisville chef featured in new Netflix competition show
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville knows food (and drinks). No arguing that it’s a foodie paradise. If you didn’t know, there’s even a highly-acclaimed chef in the city.
Edward Lee owns 610 Magnolia in Old Louisville, and he’s a winner of a coveted James Beard Foundation award. It’s one of the highest honors you can receive in the industry.
And recently, Lee’s expertise brought him on to a new Netflix show: “Drink Masters.”
The new Netflix competition is like a boozy version of a bake-off. Some of the greatest mixologists in the country go head-to-head to show off their drink-making abilities.
Lee joins the series on episode 7: “Pairs.” In it, “the contestants must mix — and pair — the perfect cocktail with a culinary dish assigned by renowned chef Edward Lee.”
This isn’t his first time TV either. He’s also been featured on “MasterChef” and “My Life on a Plate.” He was even a contestant on “Top Chef.”
And Lee isn’t the only Louisville representation on “Drink Masters.” Contestant Michael Anderson, who hails from Pittsburgh, also spent years in Louisville and mentions it in the show — specifically during a bourbon portion.
“Drink Masters” is streaming now on Netflix.
And if you haven’t checked out Lee’s (warning: expensive) restaurant, it’s located at, as you could probably guess, 610 Magnolia Avenue.
Lee is also the founder of the LEE Initiative, a Louisville non-profit that works on diversity, equity and sustainability in the restaurant industry.
