Parent Feedback, Lake Highland Prep, FL
“Jarrett came to my son’s school last week and visited with the 4th graders at Lake Highland Prep in Orlando, Fl and he truly impacted my son. It has always been a struggle to get my son to read. He had never really enjoyed reading. We would read to him, take turns reading, etc, but it was always a struggle. However, after he met Jarrett at school he couldn’t wait to get his autobiography, Hey Kiddo. We bought the book and that night he started reading it and is almost half way done! The next day he picked up the book again (on his own) and is almost done! This from a boy who hated reading. I wanted to thank Jarrett for truly inspiring my son!”

“Jarrett is a wonderfully talented graphic artist but at the same time he is an amazing communicator and he connected with faculty and students easily. We had a wonderful conversation with him before the book signing, where faculty, staff and students could ask questions. He has a charming personality and were really enjoyed getting to know him. I really appreciated how easy it was for us to host him. He drove to the campus from his home, stayed in a hotel nearby and drove himself to the campus. The made everything easier for the organizers. Jarrett is a very talented public speaker and that is a very different talent than begin an artist. This combination of him being an artist and at the same time being a dynamic public speaker is exceptional.”

“Jarrett Krosoczka, shared (and simultaneously illustrated) his compelling story during a FACTS-sponsored event last week. I’ve attended many interesting professional development workshops over the years, but Jarrett’s presentation stuck with me on a visceral level. His story was a powerful reminder of the long-term impact teachers have on students’ lives. The presentation also got me thinking about the complex family dynamics so many students are managing on a daily basis. I was grateful for the opportunity to hear and see Jarrett’s presentation, and I would highly recommend inviting him to revisit Scituate as you consider future professional development for SPS.”

“Mr. Krosoczka was an incredible speaker for our school community. He spent the morning with our students in first through eighth grade talking about what it means to be a creator, how to find and celebrate your own voice and style, and how to share your voice with the world. In the evening, he spoke to our parent community about his own childhood and how he came to become the creator he is today. From sharing why pugs are his favorite animal to discussing why persistence is key to talking about balancing work and parenting during a pandemic, Mr. Krosoczka’s presence on campus was an incredible gift. Everyone left his presentations inspired, excited, and ready to find more opportunities for art in their lives.”

“Jarrett’s ability to connect with a virtual audience with authenticity and heart created a visit that was more connected than other in person author events. We could not be more happy to have had Jarrett join our two schools together with one theme to recognize the stories all around each of us. Thank you!”

“The event was a tremendous success. The author was able to present to students who had just read his book, HEY, KIDDO over the summer for their required summer reading assignment for Bridgewater-Raynham rising juniors and seniors. The high school was very grateful for the opportunity to host a live presentation from the author for the juniors and seniors. The Q&A portion of the event was a great addition with Jarrett drawing live on stage. There is no doubt that Jarrett truly left an impact on the students and faculty that day.”

“Our virtual author visit with Jarrett J. Krosoczka for Banned Books Week was wonderful! He is such an enthusiastic and engaging speaker. Jarrett created an exciting presentation with graphics and videos to help him tell us about his life’s story, the making of “Hey, Kiddo,” and how the book was challenged. He was able to answer questions from the audience with kindness, warmth, and energy all while drawing some of his beloved book characters. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Jarrett and are so happy with the response from the public. We would love to be able to work with him again on a future event or program.”
