Jarrett J. Krosoczka

Jarrett J. Krosoczka Included in 2021 TED Talk Lineup: “The Case for Optimism”

We’re heading to the heart of everything — and TED is heading back to their roots. At this uniquely intimate event, they’ll host the conversations that matter, focusing on building a brighter future for everyone. And for this year only, they’ll do it in the place where TED began: Monterey, California. Speakers include Zach King, Wendy MacNaughton, Kim Stanley Robinson, super star singer and rapper Lizzo – and our very own JJK!

An author/illustrator of many children’s books and graphic novels, Jarrett J. Krosoczka creates books with humor, heart and deep respect for his young readers.

Jarrett J. Krosoczka is the New York Times-bestselling author/illustrator behind more than forty books for young readers, including his wildly popular Lunch Lady graphic novels, select volumes of the Star Wars: Jedi Academy series and Hey, Kiddo, a National Book Award Finalist. In addition to his work in print, he coproduced, codirected and performed in the audiobook adaptation of his graphic memoir, which garnered both Audie and Odyssey Awards for excellence in audiobook production. Young creatives can hear him on SiriusXM’s Kids Place Live and catch his popular web show, Draw Every Day with JJK, on YouTube.

Understanding that his books inspire young readers beyond the page, Krosoczka founded School Lunch Hero Day, a national campaign that celebrates school lunch staff. An advocate for arts education, he also established the Joseph and Shirley Krosoczka Memorial Youth Scholarships, which fund art classes for underprivileged children in his hometown of Worcester, Massachusetts.
