NPR’s ‘Books We Love’ site has officially released its best titles list for 2022. On it you’ll find RF Kuang’s Babel, of which The Guardian writes: “A fantastically made work, moving and enraging by turns, with an ending to blow down walls.” Read more about NPR’s take on Babel here. Silvia Moreno-Garcia’s The Daughter of Doctor Moreau is also on the list. Per The New York Times “The imagination of Silvia Moreno-Garcia is a thing of wonder, restless and romantic, fearless in the face of genre, embracing the polarities of storytelling—the sleek and the bizarre, wild passions and deep hatreds—with cool equanimity.”
