From the Eisner-nominated creators of instant bestsellers Allergic and Squished comes a charming and funny graphic novel about family, friendship, and self-discovery!

Twelve-year-old Luna never wanted to move from California to Virginia, even if it is near historic Washington, DC, and no matter how excited her dad is to introduce her to the area where her late mother grew up. And she definitely doesn’t want to live with a very formal grandmother she barely knows. But during a visit to the National Museum of Natural History, the rarely seen luna moth for which Luna was named sparks her curiosity. Using her mother’s old naturalist notebooks as a guide, Luna, who has always preferred the indoors, endeavors to see a real luna moth with her own eyes. Learning more about nature just might help her make a new friend, figure out how to feel at home in her new life, and understand the mother she never got the chance to know.

Megan Wagner Lloyd and Michelle Mee Nutter have again teamed up to tell a charming and funny story of family, friendship, adventure, and appreciating all life has to offer.

How to Catch Some Zzzs

Chronicle Books |
Children’s

A sweet and funny picture book  “manual” to help children create a nighttime ritual, settle down to sleep, and catch their elusive Zzzs.

It’s bedtime!  But what if you don’t feel ready to go to sleep?  What can you do to catch your Zzzs?

Perfect for not-so-sleepyheads, this fun read-aloud shows kids simple steps (in delightful alphabetical order) to settle down, get ready for bed, and find their way to dreamland.

GOODNIGHT, GOODNIGHT: Sometimes, it’s as simple as a bath and a bedtime story. Sometimes it’s not! At some point, every parent or caregiver faces the dilemma of how to help a child learn to go to sleep. This relatable and charming take on what to do when a child’s “Zzzs go missing” offers a fun step-by-step approach to an age-old dilemma.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF BEDTIME BOOK: Sleep instruction guides, nursery rhymes, classic sleepytime children’s books—there are many bedtime books to choose from. But this is one that offers a rare mix of being fun to read and also truly helpful in guiding kids to establish a successful bedtime ritual.

JUST RIGHT FOR YOUNG LISTENERS: In addition to soothing sleep anxiety, the read-aloud text introduces active verbs and language patterns—ideal for boosting early cognitive development.

ABC OF ZZZS: The narrative begins with an instruction to “ACT like everything is normal” and “BRUSH your teeth.” It then proceeds through the alphabet until it reaches the elusive Zzzs everyone’s been waiting for! A bit of light alphabet fun adds an extra layer to this instructive and entertaining bedtime book.

Perfect for:

  • Parents, grandparents, and caregivers looking for an engaging bedtime book
  • Teachers, librarians, and storytime readers
  • Gift-giving for toddler birthday or baby gift for new parents
  • Fans of children’s bedtime classics like Goodnight MoonTime for Bed, and The Going to Bed Book
