FLORHAM, PARK, NJ – Tickets are now available for the seventh annual Roots & Wings Authors’ Luncheon on April 2 at the Park Savoy in Florham Park. The event will feature two best-selling authors. Dawn Raffel, author of The Strange Case of Dr. Couney, will share her research exploring the extraordinary tale of how a mysterious immigrant doctor became a revolutionary innovator in saving premature babies. Christina Baker Kline, author of Orphan Train and A Piece of the World, will introduce Ms. Raffel and lead a Q&A discussion. The fundraising event supports Roots & Wings, whose mission is to provide young adults who age out of the New Jersey foster care system with safe housing, education, case management, counseling, and life skills in order to empower them toward self-sufficiency.

Roots & Wings board member and luncheon chairperson Wendy Masteller said recently, “We are excited to have both Ms. Kline and Ms. Raffel join us. Participants in this annual event tell us time and time again what a wonderful afternoon they have both hearing from our interesting authors and learning more about the mission of Roots & Wings.”
