The Danville Independent School District announced two Frank X Walker Literary Festival events during the Festival week, Oct. 24-28, that are free and open to the public. The Frank X Walker Literary Festival is an annual event celebrating authors and artists of color.

On Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 6:30 p.m. in the Reading Room of the Boyle County Public Library, the Festival presents “Comics to Movies: An Exploration with Frank X Walker.” Walker will talk about his collection currently on exhibit in the library, and the upcoming Black Panther movie, “Wakanda Forever,” which opens on Nov. 11. He will be speaking specifically how the comic-book-turned-movies have shaped conversations about art, culture, science, fiction, representation, justice, fashion, comics, creativity and so much more.
