Renée is a native of Akron, Ohio and a graduate of the American University in Washington D.C. From a young age, she knew she wanted to become a novelist, but it was a long road to publication for her. After spending 17 years writing and re-writing what would become her debut novel and receiving more than 300 rejections from literary agents, her first work of fiction, Every Crooked Pot was published in 2007 by St. Martin’s Press. It would take another five years and many more rejections before she’d find her footing and get back in the game. Her second novel, Dollface was published in 2012 by Penguin Random House/ Berkley (then NAL). Since then, she hasn’t looked back.

Today, Renée lives in Chicago with her partner, John Dul. She is currently working on a new novel expected in 2027 and will be published by Penguin Random House / Berkley.
